The Residential Intake Clinician will have the primary responsibility of connecting individuals to the appropriate level of care in their recovery journey. This position plays a key role in evaluating client needs, coordinating referrals, and supporting census management across programs. The Residential Intake Clinician is responsible for delivering accredited services and
meeting all required benchmarks as outlined by DPH, ASAM guidelines,
 and DMHAS.
Full Time / Exempt
Salary starting: $80,000/year
Schedule: Hybrid - 3 days on-site, 2 days remote
QUALIFICATIONS
LPC, LMFT, LCSW licensure required, at least 3 years of previous experience in substance use disorder treatment, intake/admission related clinical setting preferred. Prior experience with an electronic health record preferred. Knowledge of ASAM criteria and levels of care for substance use treatment is strongly preferred. Ability to communicate in Spanish preferred. Must have excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work independently and in a hybrid environment with flexibility for on-site needs.
Valid Driver’s license required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Comply with all federal, state, and accreditation regulatory requirements.
- Using ASAM criteria/triage and screen clients for substance use disorder residential level of care.
- Coordinate services with referral sources.
- Review referral documentation for completeness and clinical appropriateness.
- Identify cases requiring additional review and escalate to the Director of Nursing or Medical Director as needed.
- Work closely with the Director of Residential Services and Clinical Program Directors to maintain census in residential programs.
- Assist in managing waitlist, prioritizing admissions based on clinical need, risk level, and program availability.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with organizational policies and licensing and accreditation standards.
- Participate in team meetings to review intakes, discuss trends, and collaborate on process improvements.
- Any additional responsibilities assigned by the Director of Residential Services.
