Director of Nursing

The Director of Nursing for SUD Residential Services oversees the treatment process and assures the quality of medical/nursing care for the programs. The Director of Nursing for SUD Residential Services also provides oversight to the nursing staff who carry out the medical orders.

Full Time / Exempt

Pay Range begins at $170,000 annually

QUALIFICATIONS

Licensed in the State of CT as a Physician or Nurse Practitioner in Family and Psychiatric Practice. Knowledge of addiction treatment and pharmacology required. Previous experience with an electronic health record required. This is an onsite only position with weekly travel required to both Torrington and Waterbury locations. Previous experience leading a team, supervising staff and responsible for quality assurance. Must have excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of time sitting at a desk, using the phone, and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.

Valid Driver’s license required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee nursing staff to ensure quality assurance and provide training and supervision.
  • Provide consultation and education to all residential staff on medical and psychiatric topics.
  • Oversee medication adherence of clients and monitor clients’ progress in treatment.
  • Provide physical examination or review and update of client examination at admission.
  • Provide psychiatric evaluations and medication management.
  • Maintain appropriate clinical records and reports according to established timelines.
  • Assist in the development of recovery plans and provide medical orders to nursing staff.
  • Provide medication assisted treatment as needed.
  • Participates in regularly scheduled staff meetings regarding client treatment and facilitate medical rounds.
  • Review and approve screening/admission documentation.
  • Input on medical policy and procedure review and revision.
  • Provide on-call services.
