Maintenance Assistant

Provide repairs to and general maintenance of McCall buildings and grounds. 

Full time, Non-Exempt - 40 Hours/week

Hourly pay rate begins at $22

This position will primarily be in Waterbury but may require travel to Torrington occasionally.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must have previous experience in general carpentry, plumbing and electrical repair, as well as familiarity with general maintenance procedures.

Physical Requirements: This position requires frequent sitting, walking, climbing, and light to heavy lifting as required (50 lbs.).

*Valid Driver’s license required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Seasonal lawn and yard care as well as keeping sidewalks, driveways and parking lots clear of snow and ice.

•Basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and roof/building repairs (within capabilities) as needed.

•All interior and exterior painting.

•Weekly inspections of all buildings for maintenance needs and fire hazards, records these in logs, and report results to the Director of Facilities.

• General maintenance and other tasks assigned by the Director of Facilities or requested by Program Directors.

•Flexible and “on-call” hours including weekends and holidays required to cover maintenance emergencies, winter storms, etc.
