PREVENTION FACILIATATOR
The McCall Prevention Facilitator functions as a member of the Prevention Department. The Prevention Facilitator will dedicate their Full-time position to implementing several prevention programs in the City of Torrington, Connecticut, focusing on leading a community-based youth substance use prevention coalition. Other activities will include implementing youth substance use prevention curriculum, suicide prevention training and curriculum implementation, mental health promotion, and promoting broad prevention programming in the Torrington School District. The position will have a flexible 40 hour per week schedule based on the timing of the various groups and programs throughout the year.

Pay range begins at: $24.00/hour
Schedule is Monday to Friday with flexible hours
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in social work, public health or a related field is required; 2 years of direct prevention work experience can be used as a degree alternative. Strong leadership qualities with the ability to function in a team environment and in collaboration with schools, law enforcement, and other community leaders is critical. Strong group facilitation skills are critical. Demonstrated ability to effectively implement prevention initiatives with diverse populations in a culturally responsive and respectful manner is required. Excellent communication and documentation skills, attention to detail, computer skills, organization, and time management skills are required. Experience with sustainability planning and goal setting is important. The position also requires a flexible schedule and local travel.
Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of time sitting at a desk, using the phone, and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.
Valid Driver’s license required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Expand the capacity of the local coalition’s work by identifying, recruiting, supporting, training, informing, and retaining coalition membership.
- Coordinate and implement regular coalition meetings and trainings.
- Research, plan, and implement best-practice prevention initiatives informed by the Strategic Prevention Framework
- Monitor grant funded prevention projects - including those implemented by coalition members - deliverables, and reporting in accordance with grant requirements.
- Manage grant spending and budget in collaboration with the grant business official.
- Collaborate with program Evaluator for program-specific data collection, documentation, and reporting. Develop and operationalize long-term sustainability goals for community activities and coalition initiatives
